The four-year (8-semesters) B.E. programme in Electronics & Communication Engineering aims at professional education & training of students as designers of electronics & communications systems. Moving towards this goal from the basic level, the programme provides students with a strong background in mathematics and sciences, and in communication skills and language along with an introduction to subject domains form humanities and social sciences (HSS). This is further accompanied by courses from technical arts, computer programming and computer skills- notably web-based programming. Following this basic preparation, the programme exposes students to fundamentals of electrical sciences through courses such as Electrical Science, Digital Logic & Processor, Analog Electronic Circuits, Signals & Systems, and Control Systems.

With such strong science–based and analytical foundation, the programme then trains students in professional areas from the discipline of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE). Communication Theory, Integrated Electronics, Digital Signal Processing, Control Systems are some of the courses in the context that students attend. Importantly, along with these courses– and building on the science-based, computational and analytical preparation in earlier semesters– the programme also requires the students to further study relevant courses in mathematics, sciences, computer science, technical arts and HSS.
